Privacy Policy
The short version
This website measures how it is used with Google Analytics, but only stores a cookie after you press Accept on the small bar at the bottom of the screen. If you press Reject, no analytics cookie is set.
The enquiry form does not send your details to us over the internet. It writes your enquiry into a WhatsApp message on your own phone or computer, and nothing leaves your device until you press send in WhatsApp.
Once you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we have your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us. We use it to answer you and to supply and deliver your order, and for nothing else.
Who we are
ToolHub Kenya sells power tools, hand tools, farm tools and safety gear, with shops in Eldoret (Uganda Road, opposite Quickmart) and Nairobi (Ngara East), and delivery across Kenya.

The law this follows
This policy follows the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya. The regulator is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
You have the right to be told what personal data we hold about you, to see it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how it is used, and to complain to the ODPC.
'Personal data' means anything that identifies you, such as your name, phone number, email address or delivery address.
Website measurement (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which tools and guides people look at, which searches they make in our catalogue, and which buttons they use to contact us. This tells us what to stock and what to write about.
On your first visit a small bar offers Accept and Reject. Until you choose, nothing is stored on your device.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code. They hold a random number that lets Google tell one browser from another. They do not hold your name, phone number or anything you type.
If you reject, no analytics cookie is set and no identifier is kept, but Google still receives a basic signal that a page was viewed, which includes your IP address. That is how Google's consent mode works, and we say so plainly rather than claim that rejecting stops everything.
We do not send Google your name, phone number, email address or message text. Product names typed into the catalogue search are recorded as search terms, with anything that looks like a phone number removed.
Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC and the data is processed on Google's servers outside Kenya. The lawful basis for that is your consent, given with the Accept button.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. You can change it at any time with the 'Cookie settings' link at the bottom of every page.
The enquiry form
The quotation form asks for the tool you want, the quantity and your delivery town. It does not ask for your name, phone number or email address.
When you press the button, your browser writes a WhatsApp message with those details and opens WhatsApp. You decide whether to send it. If you close WhatsApp without sending, we never see the enquiry.
If you send it, WhatsApp delivers it to our business number, 0721 600 400, and we can see your WhatsApp number and profile name, because that is how WhatsApp works.
If you call, SMS or email us
If you call or SMS 0721 600 400 we see your phone number in the normal way. Calls are not recorded.
Email to info@toolhubkenya.co.ke is delivered through our email provider, which processes it in the normal way any email service does.
What we hold, why, and who else sees it
We hold only what you send us: usually your phone number or email address, the tools you asked about, and, if you order, your name and delivery details.
We use it to answer your enquiry and to supply and deliver your order. That is necessary to take steps at your request before a sale and to complete the sale.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing. When we deliver an order, the courier or transport service carrying it receives the name, phone number and address needed to deliver it.
Our website is hosted by HostAfrica. Like every web server, theirs records technical logs of page requests (such as IP address, time, page and browser type) so that faults and attacks can be investigated. We do not use those logs for any commercial purpose.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted when they are no longer needed. Records of completed sales are kept for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting rules require.
How your information is protected
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. WhatsApp messages between you and us are encrypted end to end by WhatsApp. Nothing you type into the website is stored on it, so there is no customer database on this site.
Your rights
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, message 0721 600 400 on WhatsApp or email info@toolhubkenya.co.ke with 'Privacy' in the subject, and give us the phone number or email you contacted us from.
Deleting a conversation on our side does not delete the copy on your own phone or anything held by WhatsApp; use WhatsApp's own settings for that.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
Children
This website is for buying tools and equipment and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website works, this page is updated the same day and the date at the top changes with it.
